CorelDraw 12 (and X3, and probably other versions) crashing with TweakUI
Important safety tip: Don’t disable anything in the “Common Dialogs” section of TweakUI for Windows XP if you also use CorelDraw 12 or X3. Disabling “Enable AutoComplete” and “Remember previously-used filenames” caused CorelDraw 12 and X3 to crash whenever they displayed a File-related dialog box. Reinstalling CorelDraw had no effect on the crashes nor did upgrading to the latest service pack of X3. Corel-PAINT was also affected.
I hate computers.

I have had a problem with Corel Graphics Suite X3 where the Open, Save, Import, etc. dialogue boxes were broken (the buttons were all in the wrong places), and this was on a fresh install of Windows XP. Corel were no help but thanks to your page I have fixed it. The cause was simple - I had turned off “remember previously used filenames” in Tweak UI. Fortunately I had not had the crashing problem so I had been able to complete my Christmas calendars in time. Don’t think I had this problem with v12 though.
All things considered it’s a rediculous bug for Corel to be including these days. They must have well and truely deviated from the Windows standard for this to happen. And it hasn’t been fixed in either of the 2 service packs they have released!
Maybe a return to the days in the mid-90s to when you should always avoid odd numbered releases of Corel Draw. Although some said avoid even numbers, better to just avoid odd and even to be on the safe side
